Is Safella free to use?
Safella offers a free basic plan with essential safety features. For full access to all features including AI calls, evidence gathering, and priority support, Safella Extra is available for €9,99/month or €59,99/year (6 months free).
How does the AI video call work?
When you start an AI video call, your front camera goes live so it looks exactly like a real video call, with your companion's avatar on screen and their voice talking with you in real time. To anyone nearby, you're clearly on a call with someone: a believable reason to leave any situation.
Does Safella work without internet?
Alerting your contacts needs a data or mobile connection, because your live location and SOS are sent through Safella. But even offline, Safella still detects your local emergency number and pre-fills the dialer, so you can call for help in one tap, and any evidence you capture keeps recording on your device and uploads automatically once you're back online.
Is my data private and secure?
Absolutely. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and your location, recordings, and personal information are never sold or shared with third parties. Your evidence files stay private and accessible only to you.
How does Walk With Me work?
Tell Safella your destination and it tracks your route in real time. If you stop moving, deviate from your path, or don't arrive when expected, your trusted contacts are automatically alerted with your live location.
Can I use Safella in my country?
Safella is available in over 50 countries worldwide. The app works anywhere with a mobile connection, and our safety map features are continuously expanding to new regions.
What happens when I trigger an alert?
When you activate the panic alert, Safella instantly sends your live GPS location to all your emergency contacts via SMS and push notification. It also begins silently recording audio and video as evidence, and starts building an incident report automatically.
Can my emergency contacts see my location at all times?
No. Your contacts only receive your location when you actively share it: during a Walk With Me session, a Date Escape timer, or when you trigger an alert. You are always in control of when your location is shared.
Is the Safella app available now?
Safella is in private beta on iOS and Android while we finish the store launch. For early access, request an invite via the contact form on the homepage. Launch updates land on our News page.
How is Safella different from a normal panic-button app?
Panic buttons only help once a situation is already an emergency. Safella focuses on the moments before that: a believable AI companion call, video call, or chat thread changes how a situation feels to everyone around you, and if things do escalate, one tap alerts your trusted contacts with your live location while Safella records evidence silently.
Does Safella call the police automatically?
No. Safella never auto-dials emergency services. It detects your local emergency number (112, 999, 911 and others) and pre-fills the call so you can dial instantly. You always stay in control.
What does Safella Extra include?
Texting your AI companion is free for everyone. Safella Extra adds AI voice and video calls and custom companions. See the pricing section on the homepage for current plans.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. You can delete recordings, incidents, and your entire account at any time, and deletion requests are honoured in line with GDPR.
What languages does Safella support?
The app and the website are available in English, French, German, Spanish, Turkish, and Dutch, with more languages planned as we roll out across Europe.
